Day 98 + 99
SUNDAY
Ryan - Lizzy can elaborate on the details of a very scary event with our our close friends. The husband went hiking/repelling somewhere down south on Friday expecting to be home on Saturday (evening). Well he didn't come home and so his wife called Search and Rescue and on Saturday night a big storm came through northern Utah and a little bit of snow hit where he was. Turns out that he and three others were stuck in a canyon they were repelling, unable to get back to the top. Expecting to get rescued on Sunday, they were actually found on Monday. Fortunately, there was a cave to partially shield them from the freezing temperatures, but I couldn't imagine, what kind of panic would set in when you realize no one is coming to help. Miraculously, when the rescuers found them on Monday morning, they had no signs of frostbite or hypothermia. Why do I tell you this? In an earlier blog, I suggested that we wait on the food storage. Well, that may change. I'm positive, my friend didn't expect to be in the situation he was in and he's a very knowledgeable person. Disaster isn't going to wait for a convenient time to strike and if we are not ready, then we have no excuse, because we have been advise by our leaders to build our food storage and have a plan in the event that disaster strikes.
